Here’s how to get started:

Choose your shirt. You’ll want to choose a shirt that is made of a smooth, sturdy fabric. Avoid shirts that are made of a stretchy material, as they will be more difficult to stencil.
Choose your paint. Acrylic paint works well for stenciling. You’ll want to choose a paint that is opaque, so that it will completely cover the fabric beneath it.
Prepare your work surface. Cover your work surface with a piece of cardboard or a drop cloth. This will protect your surface from paint stains.
