Boots Beauty Haulin'

I don't know about you but I could literally spend hours in Boots, and quite often that's just what I do. There's this whole process I go through full of the following steps; a) staring at products, b) giving the testers a try, c) popping a few things into my basket and finally... d) being indecisive and putting half of what I chose back. In my head I go through the whole "will I actually use it?", "have I heard anything about it?" and "can I justify the price?". Understandably, the products in Boots aren't going to break the bank but there's been far too many times that I've came home happy with my purchases only to find that I have exactly the same thing already but from a different brand. Such a waste of money. Ramble over, here's what I've actually took to the checkouts and brought home recently...

I seem to have gone slightly L'Oreal mad lately but lets be honest, despite my dwindling bank balance after Christmas, L'Oreal products aren't the worst thing to be buying so there is a sense of prudence going on here. The L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil caught my eye after finally being on my last drops of the L'Oreal Nature Oilixr one I was previously using. That one was 100% natural and this one, well, not so much. That said, the Extraordinary Oil does contain 6 flower extracts along with coconut oil and I can't wait to put it to the test. L'Oreals Nude Magique Foundation has been on my radar for a while and whilst the lightest shade, Porcelain, is a touch too dark for my super fair skin, it does blend in well, feels light on the skin and offers a tinted moisturiser type coverage. More testing to follow. I've been slightly obsessed with Victoria's Secret for a few years now and just yearn to look like the beautiful Victoria's Secret Angels so when I saw that Doutzen Kroes, one of my favourite VS models, had created a lipstick for L'Oreal I just had to pick it up. The L'Oreal Colour Riche Collection Privee In Barely Pink by Doutzen Kroes (and breathe!) is a pretty pale pink shade that I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of wear out of in the upcoming months. I've seen a lot of posts featuring L'Oreals new BlackBuster Intense Super Liner but I wasn't keen on how thick the pen was so I picked up the L'Oreal Super Liner in Perfect Slim instead. Same product, thinner nib.

My non-L'Oreal purchases include everyone's favourite, the Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze and Max Factors Wild Shadow Pencil in 05, a gorgeous golden taupe shade. Both of these shades are so typically me and I'll make no excuses for the fact that I'm beginning to have a little taupe brown and bronze collection going on in my makeup stash. Whoops!

  1. Haha I'm the exact same in Boots! I'm sure the staff must think I'm a tad strange, circling stands for ages, picking things up and putting them back... I really want to try out all the L'Oreal products you got but I love On & On Bronze! xx
